College Volunteers

College Student Volunteer Program

The 2024 Spring semester application is now CLOSED.

The 2024 Summer semester application will be open from February 26, 2024 to March 8, 2024. Please check back then to apply for the Summer semester. 

College Students are an integral part of our volunteer base. Depending on the season, we have anywhere from 50 to 200 College Student Volunteers within Upstate’s inpatient and outpatient departments.

Requirements:

  • Must be taking 16 or fewer credits for the semester in which you are applying
  • Ability to commit to volunteering one 4-hour shift, each week
  • Attend a mandatory virtual orientation on January 27th 2024 @ 9 am (For new Spring volunteers)
  • Must be available for the entire semester; missing no more than 2 weeks

Commitments:

College student volunteers are required to volunteer for one, 4-hour shift per week. Volunteers must be available for the entire semester, missing no more than 2 shifts per semester. 

Volunteer shifts are typically Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm, or 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm, but may slightly vary per assignment.
